Job Description

• Must have strong orthopedic experience in total joint procedures.
• Position: OR Certified Surgical Technician (CST) at Euclid Hospital.
• Shift: Day shift, 5 shifts per week, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5 to 8 hour shifts).
• Minimum of 18 months recent OR CST experience required.
• Must have 18 months permanent OR CST experience prior to travel assignment.
• Recent Epic charting experience within the last 6 months is required.
• Must hold current AHA or Red Cross BLS and NBSTSA certification.
• One recent reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty (Charge RN references accepted).
• Traveler must work at least every other holiday.
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment during orientation.

Required Experience

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 18 months OR CST experience (recent and prior permanent).
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Red Cross (must be current).
• NBSTSA Certification (National Certification for CST).
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC – Not required for this position but may be preferred in other specialties.
• State License Verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.

Orientation & Testing

• Pass/Fail ECG and Medication testing required during orientation (SafeMedicate).
• Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition test.
• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory.
• Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (for candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later).
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• Immunizations required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years), MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 03/31).
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually.

Background & Compliance

• Background check required prior to start, including FCRA compliant 7-year search.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Fingerprinting must be completed under nursing code 4723.09.
• Candidates may start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar area.

References

• Two references required from employment within one year of start.
• References must be from a manager, ANM, supervisor, charge nurse, or director.
• Co-worker references are not acceptable.
