Description
Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)
Location: Derry, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: ICU
- Number of Beds: 8
- Patient Ratios: 2:1
- Unit Staffing: Mixed patient population, open ICU, goal staffing 4 RNs 24/7
- Equipment: GE B650 cardiac monitors, ventilators, Gaymar cooling
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling encouraged, every other weekend (EOW), overtime available if desired, flexible scheduling
- Floating Policy: ICU nurses may float to critical care or intermediate care areas as needed
Patient Care & Experience
- AIDET validation during orientation
- Focus on nurse communication: listening carefully and explaining clearly
- Use of white boards, hourly rounding, bedside care conference/hand-off
Required Certifications & Licenses
- NH Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in Medical and Surgical ICU
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
- Preferred: AIBP experience and CCRN certification
Procedures & Responsibilities
- Ventilator care
- Therapeutic Hypothermia
- PCI/STEMI care
- IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
- Invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- TEE/cardioversion
- Temporary pacemaker management
- Sepsis management
- Stroke/TPA administration
- DKA management
- ICU RNs serve as responders for Code Blue and Rapid Response Team
