Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour days
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Number of Beds: 10
• Float: Required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Charting System: Epic (experience required)

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have prior travel experience)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• PALS, NRP, CHEMO, MAB, CPI as applicable

Competencies and Testing

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
• Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or higher if Angoff score is higher)
• Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors, annual completion required)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start
• Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Adult TDAP Vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year
• TB Questionnaire within 90 days of start (if applicable)
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

Background and Documentation

• 7 Year Background Check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Education Verification (highest level) required
• State License Verification (primary source online)
• NURSYS Verification for RN license
• Work History Verification for 7 years
• Complete Employment Application/Resume required
• Unit Specific Skills Checklist (annual)
• Clear headshot photo for badge

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to float to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Certain counties in Texas are excluded for travelers (not applicable for candidates residing in those counties)

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with prior travel experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced ICU environment using Epic charting and meeting comprehensive certification and health requirements.
