Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 12N (Noon) - 36 hours on weekends
- Start Dates: 2/24, 3/10
- Scheduling: Block scheduling considered; options for two shifts or every weekend plus another shift any day of the week
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Must be willing to work holidays
- Local candidates preferred (within 60 miles)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
- Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment)
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for ED or Pediatrics
- NIH Stroke Certification (based on unit description)
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
- Other certifications as required by unit (e.g., NRP, TNCC, EFM) depending on assignment specifics
Skills Required
- Conscious Sedation
- Telemetry
- Triage
- Ventilator management
- Cerner electronic medical record experience
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Flu vaccine required (or approved medical/religious exemption)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the past year (with annual updates if applicable)
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana) with specific drug panels
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
- Other routine health screenings and immunizations as per facility policy
Background & Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Employment history verification covering at least 2 years within the past 7 years
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience in the last 3 years
- Completion of facility-specific modules and attestations prior to start
- Valid state nursing license required prior to start
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required
Additional Notes
- Scrubs are not provided; required color is Navy Blue
- Candidates must be willing to complete all required competency exams and facility onboarding modules
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements
This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working weekends, holidays, and in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
