Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Easton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 02/23/2026
Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend required (4 weekends in a 4-week cycle)
Holidays: Required as scheduled
Floating: Required within specialty, lower acuity, and sister location as needed
On-Call: Not required
Patient Population: Adult/Geriatric
Patient Diagnoses: Fast-paced, high census with a variety of diagnoses including complex multi-diagnoses
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity patients

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted

Licensure & Certifications

• Maryland RN State License
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• NIH Stroke Certification (annual update required)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - completed onsite during orientation
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., CHEMO, TNCC, PALS, NRP, EFM)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• I9 or Attestation
• Government Issued Photo ID
• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, SSN trace, education verification, and state-specific exclusions
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates required)
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (seasonal)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters
  • Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters
  • TDaP vaccine or signed declination (required for most units)
• COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
• Verification of at least 2 years hospital or equivalent acute care experience within last 5 years

Orientation & Facility Policies

• Orientation held at facility, typically 8am on Tuesdays (scrubs or business casual; scrub color royal blue)
• Facility-specific documents and agreements must be signed prior to start (e.g., confidentiality agreement, dress code review)
• Badge photo required (passport style with solid background)
• Annual TB risk assessment and access forms must be completed prior to start

Additional Notes

• Floating may include coverage at lower acuity units and sister locations
• Medication and competency exams required as applicable (e.g., medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency)
• Pass/fail testing (EKG/medication) required at orientation with minimum passing score of 85%
• Portfolio Epic training test-out option available for eligible candidates
