Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

Adult Respiratory Services at a large hospital with 850 beds
Unit staffed by 120 respiratory therapists
Day Shift: 17-20 RRTs for adult service lines
Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines
Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
Equipment includes:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilators
- Hamilton C1 ventilators
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

Current North Carolina Respiratory Therapist License
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (CRT candidates will NOT be considered)
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT (highest required years of experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) certification

Job Responsibilities

Perform all respiratory therapy tasks and functions within adult critical care units and floors
Float across all critical care units as needed

Work Schedule & Environment

Scrub color: Medium Gray/Pewter
Weekend shifts required: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Varying on-call requirements

Additional Notes

Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position.
The unit is a Level II trauma center with comprehensive stroke and neonatal intensive care units.
The hospital is recognized for high clinical quality and safety standards.

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs licensed in North Carolina seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity adult respiratory care setting.
