Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- Adult Respiratory Services at a large hospital with 850 beds
- Unit staffed by 120 respiratory therapists
- Day Shift: 17-20 RRTs for adult service lines
- Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines
- Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
- Equipment includes:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilators
- Hamilton C1 ventilators
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Respiratory Therapist License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (CRT candidates will NOT be considered)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT (highest required years of experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) certification
Job Responsibilities
- Perform all respiratory therapy tasks and functions within adult critical care units and floors
- Float across all critical care units as needed
Work Schedule & Environment
- Scrub color: Medium Gray/Pewter
- Weekend shifts required: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Varying on-call requirements
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position.
- The unit is a Level II trauma center with comprehensive stroke and neonatal intensive care units.
- The hospital is recognized for high clinical quality and safety standards.
This position is ideal for experienced RRTs licensed in North Carolina seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity adult respiratory care setting.
