Description

Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Facility Information

  • Unit: Resource Pool / ED HOLD (648)
  • Patient Ratios: 4:1 (Overflow units for ED Holds)
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Shift Details: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A
  • Weekend Schedule: Rotating
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
  • Floating Policy: Floating required as needed; all candidates must be willing to float

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU
  • Required Years of Experience: 2+ years in hospital/specialty (higher value used)
  • Licensure: Active Texas RN License only (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • Skills:
    • Telemetry monitoring experience
    • Experience with various IV drips
  • Preferred: Meditech experience

Job Responsibilities & Procedures

  • Typical procedures performed in progressive care departments
  • Patient care focused on telemetry and ICU-level acuity

Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines

  • Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pant; navy or white scrub jacket
  • Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails required
  • Hair: Neat and clean, no extreme styles or colors
  • Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions handled individually
  • Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Floating is mandatory as per hospital policy; candidates will be informed during the interview.
