Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Specialty: Registered Nurse – ED Holding/CICU (Intermediate Care Unit)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Contracted to the Emergency Department (ED) unit, specifically caring for inpatient/CICU level holds in the ED.
  • Must have a strong Progressive Care Unit (PCU) background within the last year.
  • Emergency Department (ED) experience preferred but not required.
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (EOW).
  • First-time travelers accepted only if they have EPIC experience and 2 years of experience (no first timers with only 1 year experience).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required (PCU experience strongly preferred).
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA Provider only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Provider only
  • EKG test on arrival
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., Management of Assaultive Behavior, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, TNCC, PALS) – verify during onboarding.

Unit & Procedure Details

  • Management and titration of drips required (common drips include Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine).
  • Use of specialized equipment such as Bipap, Cpap, Vapotherm, Alaris Pumps, Phillips Monitoring System.

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Comprehensive background check required within 30 days of start, including:
    • Social Security Verification
    • National Sex Offender Registry
    • National Criminal Search
    • FACIS L3
    • Education Verification
    • Criminal county/state searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police Search required instead)
    • BEAS State Registry (for NH placements)
    • Motor Vehicle Background Check (if applicable)
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start (with a 7-day grace period).
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance required (RespSafety virtual questionnaire).
  • Two current professional references within the last 3 years required.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start.
  • Annual fit mask test (N95 or equivalent).
  • Tdap vaccine administered after age 19 and within the last 10 years (medical or religious exemptions allowed with documentation).
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year prior to start (2-step PPD or equivalent).
  • TB Questionnaire required for all travelers.
  • Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with waiver)
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 – Apr 1) with medical or religious exemptions allowed.

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge (passport style, jpeg).
  • Proof of auto insurance if applicable (for Home Health, Hospice, or Visiting Nurse roles).
  • Completion of facility-specific compliance attestations and safety manual acknowledgements.
  • Pass/fail testing for EKG/Dysrhythmia and medication awareness may be required onsite or within 48 hours of contract signing depending on unit.

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in New Hampshire’s ED holding/CICU unit requiring at least 2 years of nursing experience with a strong PCU background. The role involves managing critically ill patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions, titrating drips, and using advanced monitoring equipment.
