Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER)

Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel contract position in the Emergency Room. The unit serves as a regional referral and tertiary care center with approximately 101 beds and 250 visits per day.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
Prior travel experience not required; first-time travelers are accepted.

TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Work Details

Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 hours per week offered
Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3-5 patients
Floating: Required between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on need
Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend days per 6-week period, possibly every other weekend
Orientation: 24 hours
Dress Code: Navy/White scrubs

Additional Requirements

Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
Floating between units as needed
Compliance with various background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific training modules
Required health documents include negative TB test or chest X-ray, immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella), drug testing, and flu vaccination or approved exemption
Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety training
Photo for badge required prior to start

Patient Population

Diverse patient population served at a regional referral and tertiary care center

Notes

No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
Candidates must complete required competency exams and certifications as outlined
Floating and weekend coverage are mandatory components of the role

This position is ideal for nurses with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced emergency setting and are willing to float between related units. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
