Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Schedule: Weekend and holiday rotations required
  • No call required
  • Floating: All travelers are subject to float between all campuses as needed

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years required
  • Travel Experience: First-time travelers are accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Required Skills and Experience

  • ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
  • Cardiac Telemetry experience required
  • Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Peripheral line care/management, including PICC line management
  • Ability to titrate drips
  • Experience with PCU nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5
  • Must be flexible with floating as needed

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (AHA or ARC)
  • BLS (AHA or ARC)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for Cardiac Progressive Care and MS/Tele units)
  • Pass/Fail Dysrhythmia/EKG Exam (must pass with minimum 82%)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • State RN License verification (Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS verification within 60 days of start
  • Other certifications as applicable based on unit and specialty

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (required for badge)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification (Associate's degree in nursing or higher required)
  • Transcript/Diploma as proof of highest education
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Fit mask test completed within current calendar year and updated annually
  • Fingerprinting (NC SBI Fingerprint Results) if applicable (Home Health and Long-Term Care only)

Testing and Competency Exams

  • Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam required for all RNs (except Behavioral Health and Case Managers)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher)
  • Color Blind Testing (as applicable)
  • Competency exams as required by specialty

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Candidate must complete all compliance requirements by the deadline (12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date)
  • Floating policy applies to all agency staff regardless of unit or facility
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
  • References: 2 supervisory references required for clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
  • Verification of all employment within last 5 years required
