Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights (1900-0730), 3 shifts per week (3x12)
Schedule: Every other weekend required, no call or float requirement

Job Summary

• Position for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Night shift coverage
• Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a lower rate
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid state license for Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Job Requirements & Expectations

• Must work every other weekend
• No call or float duties
• Must pass background checks and verifications as required
• Must complete facility-specific modules and documentation prior to start
• Required to maintain current health and safety documentation (see below)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the past year (or as per history)
• Up-to-date immunizations/vaccinations including:

  • Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Varicella documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)

Background & Compliance

• Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Federal and state-level screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) prior to start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification for highest degree required by position
• Employment history verification covering at least 2 years in the past 7 years
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience in the last 3 years

Additional Notes

• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually
• Medication and competency exams required within 3 years of start date, including pharmacology and competency exams relevant to the specialty
• Facility-specific photo for badge required
• Completion of facility modules (SITELS) prior to start date
