Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights (1900-0730), 3 shifts per week (3x12)
Schedule: Every other weekend required, no call or float requirement
Job Summary
- Position for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Night shift coverage
- Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a lower rate
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid state license for Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Job Requirements & Expectations
- Must work every other weekend
- No call or float duties
- Must pass background checks and verifications as required
- Must complete facility-specific modules and documentation prior to start
- Required to maintain current health and safety documentation (see below)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the past year (or as per history)
- Up-to-date immunizations/vaccinations including:
- Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Varicella documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
Background & Compliance
- Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Federal and state-level screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Employment history verification covering at least 2 years in the past 7 years
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience in the last 3 years
Additional Notes
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually
- Medication and competency exams required within 3 years of start date, including pharmacology and competency exams relevant to the specialty
- Facility-specific photo for badge required
- Completion of facility modules (SITELS) prior to start date
