Job Opportunity: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (Hospital Acute)

Location: Frederick, Maryland
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Join a large multidisciplinary team of approximately 40 clinicians in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will treat a variety of diagnoses including orthopedics, neurological, behavioral health, and critical care caseloads.

Focus areas include:

• Morning Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• One-on-one treatment
• Facilitating group treatment

Required Qualifications

• Degree from an ACOTE-accredited school
• Current Maryland state licensure or eligibility in Occupational Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience (highest required experience)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Strong documentation skills in an EMR system (preferably hospital-based)
• Experience running Occupational Therapy groups is a plus
• Strong skills in flexibility, time management, and communication

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality occupational therapy services according to treatment plans
• Document patient care accurately and timely using web-based EMR software
• Meet clinical, departmental, and regulatory expectations (productivity standards 65%-75%, 21-24 billable units/day)
• Conduct patient and family education, and collaborate with hospital staff including physicians and nursing teams
• Promote teamwork and communication in a positive work environment
