Job Opportunity: Pediatric Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Days, 07:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, 8-10 call shifts per month including weekends
- Number of Cath Lab Rooms: 2
- Types of Cases Preferred:
- Level I Trauma Pediatric Cath Lab
- Electrophysiology (EP) experience preferred
- Types of Cases Required:
- Pediatric/Adult Transplant Right/Left Biopsy
- Balloon, Stent, Valve Placement
- May include Interventional Radiology (preferably pediatric)
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Radiology/Cardiology Cath Lab)
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Certifications:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- CCI with RCIS/RCES preferred, or ARRT (R) with SCRQSA (R) acceptable
- License: South Carolina Radiology Tech license or registration as applicable
- Radiation Badge: Required and must be provided by the agency
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN Trace, Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education Verification: Required
- Physical Exam: Initial and annual updates required
- Fit Mask Test: N95 fit test within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Immunizations and Health Documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccination/booster documentation
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption during flu season (Aug-April)
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Competency Exams: Required as applicable, including medication/pharmacology competency and color blindness testing
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Employment History: Verification of last 3 clinical employers
Facility and Orientation Information
- Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
- Charting System: EPIC preferred
- Parking: Paid parking nights and weekends only
- Orientation:
- Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay platform access provided after clearance
- Passport-style photo required for badge (frontal view, business casual attire)
Scheduling and Other Notes
- Block Scheduling: May be accommodated at manager’s discretion
- Locals Accepted: Yes, on a case-by-case basis
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; called off hours can be broken down
