Description

Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum rooms, Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), and babies roomed in with moms.
  • Average patient volume: 40 deliveries per month, including approximately 6 C-sections per month.
  • May be required to serve as charge nurse occasionally after completing charge nurse training.
  • Travelers may be expected to float to other departments where qualified, which could involve taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones.
  • Shift schedule: 12-hour day shifts with flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care in a healthcare setting (higher experience may be required in some cases).
  • Certifications required:
    • American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or RNC-EFM as a substitute.

Additional Information

  • Orientation is conducted on Mondays only.
  • Flexibility to float to other departments as needed.
