Description

Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (All Shifts)

Location: Tuba City, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care to critically ill patients primarily in a 5-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  • Float periodically to Emergency Department (ED), Medical/Surgical, or Pediatrics units as needed due to low census.
  • Perform responsible nursing care procedures independently, following doctors' orders, standards of care, nursing policies, and hospital procedures.
  • Provide inpatient care and support to individuals of all ages and their families.
  • After-hours recovery care for post-op general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of prior ICU experience.
  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Licensure: Current, valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in any U.S. state, territory, or Puerto Rico.
  • Certifications: Must have and maintain throughout employment:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (to be completed within 6 months of hire)
    • Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) (to be completed within 6 months of hire)
    • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (to be completed within 6 months of hire)

Additional Information

  • Orientation sessions occur every 2 weeks.
  • COVID & Flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted after submitting a declination form.
  • Shared contractor housing is provided; no pets or family allowed.
  • Housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start.

  • The facility serves a culturally diverse population including Navajo, Hopi, Southern Paiute, Anglo, Hispanic, and African American communities.
  • Located in a semi-desert landscape on the Colorado Plateau with elevations ranging from 4,400 to nearly 7,000 feet.
  • The hospital provides a wide range of services including emergency, surgical, dental, ophthalmology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, and more.
