Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Tech
Location: Paramus, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Interview required prior to offer.
- Shift options: Day shifts only.
- Schedule:
- 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts or 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts.
- Lab hours: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday (no weekends or hospital holidays).
- Short call requirement: 4-hour shifts from 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday to finish cases.
- Call rotation approximately every 4 weeks.
- Specialty: Electrophysiology (EP) experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Certification: RCIS or ARRT.
- New Jersey state license required if ARRT certified.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required to start.
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.
Required Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Electrophysiology Tech).
- Years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1 year EP experience based on specialty and job requirements.
Required Certifications and Compliance
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only.
- State license verification within 30 days prior to start (NJ license required for ARRT).
- Pass/fail testing onsite (Telemetry Competency and Medication exam).
- Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) with 80% passing score, updated annually.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam with 80% passing score, updated annually.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam with 80% passing score, updated annually.
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara test) within 1 year of assignment start.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required.
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required.
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 72 hours of contract signing, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP.
- Fit mask test within 72 hours of contract signing (N95 or equivalent).
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending or rapid tests).
- Immunizations and titers within 72 hours of contract signing:
- COVID-19: Completed initial series and booster required, no exemptions.
- Flu vaccine mandatory for the season (Sept 1 – June 30).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers.
- Varicella vaccinations or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required.
- Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender search, OIG, EPLS/SAM, OFAC sanctions, and others as required.
- Employment verification for last 7 years required.
- Two professional references required (one supervisory within 12 months, one professional within 3 years).
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide interview availability at submission.
- Local rate applies within 75 miles of the facility.
- Call rotation every 4 weeks on average.
- No weekend or holiday shifts.
This position is ideal for an experienced Electrophysiology Tech with required certifications and the ability to work day shifts with occasional short call evenings.
