Description
Job Opportunity: Radiology Tech (Evening Shift)
Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging examinations
- Explain procedures and respond to patient questions
- Perform diagnostic radiological procedures as ordered by physicians
- Assist Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedures
- Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR imaging equipment safely and efficiently
- Move portable radiographic equipment within various hospital departments including Emergency, Operating Room, PACU, and Nursing
- Administer IV and oral contrast media as needed and manage contrast reactions
- Document patient information and imaging details accurately in PACS
- Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a specialized training program in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Registered with the ARRT in Radiology
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, renewed every two years
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with radiologic equipment, procedures, and safety hazards
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to troubleshoot and adjust equipment as needed
- Ability to use sterile technique during procedures in the Operating Room and Radiology department
Additional Information
- Must be able to perform clerical duties related to workflow monitoring and quality assurance
- Ability to explain policies and procedures to radiology students as directed
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
