Description
Job Opportunity: Radiology Tech (Diagnostic Imaging)
Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging examinations
- Explain procedures and respond to patient questions
- Perform diagnostic radiological procedures as ordered by physicians
- Assist Radiologist and Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedures
- Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR imaging equipment safely and efficiently
- Administer IV and oral contrast media as needed
- Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards
- Perform clerical duties related to imaging workflow and quality assurance
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year
Additional Information
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in various hospital departments including Emergency, Operating Room, PACU, and Nursing
- Use of proper sterile technique during procedures in the Operating Room
- Ability to document patient information accurately in PACS
