Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology Tech (Diagnostic Imaging)

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging examinations
Explain procedures and respond to patient questions
Perform diagnostic radiological procedures as ordered by physicians
Assist Radiologist and Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedures
Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR imaging equipment safely and efficiently
Administer IV and oral contrast media as needed
Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards
Perform clerical duties related to imaging workflow and quality assurance

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or its equivalent
Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year

Additional Information

Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in various hospital departments including Emergency, Operating Room, PACU, and Nursing
Use of proper sterile technique during procedures in the Operating Room
Ability to document patient information accurately in PACS
