Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) - Operating Room (Days)
Location: Midland, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Prepare the surgical suite by assisting the surgical technologist and registered nurse with gathering equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Ensure all supplies and equipment are available and in working condition for procedures.
- Assist the surgeon during operations by providing exposure, aiding in hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions.
- Perform tasks such as draping, retracting, suctioning, sponging, suturing, tissue handling, cautery techniques, and applying appropriate dressing materials.
- Collaborate with the operating room team to ensure patient care and safety.
- Assist with patient transportation, positioning, and total care as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a CVOR Technologist within the last year.
- Experience as a Surgical First Assistant.
- Active certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA).
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel assignment history is preferred but not required.
Additional Information
- EMR system used: Epic
- Dress code: Hospital-provided scrubs
- Candidates must be located outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).
