Job Opportunity: Ultrasonographer (Diagnostic Imaging)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including:

    • Abdomen (Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, Renal; normal and pathology)
    • Gynecological (breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, pelvis; normal, pathology, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult and pediatric)
    • Obstetrics (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester; amniocentesis; complications; biophysical profile; gestational age; placental grading; abnormalities; IUGR; uterus/adnexa)
    • Procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, intraoperative assistance
    • Neonatal (congenital anomalies, neonatal head)
    • Superficial structures (abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum & testes, thyroid)
    • Vascular (carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex)
  • Equipment used includes Canon i700 ultrasound machine, Meditech EMR, Fuji Synapse PACS

  • Floating to other units/departments as needed

  • 40-hour shifts with call when appropriate

  • Dress code: Personal scrubs or healthcare professional attire


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting in Diagnostic Imaging/Ultrasonography
  • ARDMS certifications required: Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Active BLS certification (AHA Certified)

Additional Information

  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for experienced ultrasonographers with strong skills across multiple ultrasound specialties seeking a contract role in Hawaii.
