Job Opportunity: PCU RN (Registered Nurse)

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Specialty: PCU 4N


Job Details

  • Contract Length: 14 weeks
  • Unit: Candler 4N
  • Beds: 12
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4
  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling allowed
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Yes
  • Call/Standby: No
  • Floating: No
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Patient Population & Unit Info

  • Common diagnoses: Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, Heart Failure
  • Telemetry experience required
  • RNs titrate drips (set rate only)
  • RNs pull their own labs (no phlebotomy)
  • Charge nurse takes an assignment
  • Nurse aides present (ratio 1:12)
  • Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP
  • Tele/Monitor techs not present on unit; monitoring done on 3rd floor
  • RNs do not read their own strips
  • Tele monitors brand: Space Lab

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity
  • Prior travel experience required: Successful completion of at least 1 travel contract
  • Must pass clinical resume review for consideration

Orientation

  • One day computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment
  • Two shifts orientation with preceptor

This position is ideal for experienced PCU RNs with prior travel contract experience looking for a 14-week assignment in a hospital setting with a strong focus on telemetry and med-surg patient care.
