Description

Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Blocked schedule: Friday-Sunday, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Types of cases: General surgery, urology, orthopedic, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, advanced ENT, spine
  • Must be able to scrub and circulate
  • Scrubs provided
  • No on-call required
  • Local candidates accepted
  • Manager interview required

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1.5 years of experience in specialty (Pediatric OR)

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred
  • CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) – Preferred
  • State RN license valid in New Jersey

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not explicitly required

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
  • Two references within the last 2 years (one managerial)
  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility requirements
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions
  • Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
  • Fit test and respiratory medical clearance as applicable
  • Completion of facility-specific education and orientation requirements
  • Medication and competency exams (including EKG/dysrhythmia competency) within 12 months
  • Color blindness test if job tasks require color discrimination
  • Annual education sign-off and other facility-specific attestations

Additional Notes

  • Block scheduling requests must be approved with submittal
  • Candidates must be able to meet all facility-specific compliance and credentialing requirements
  • RWJBarnabas Health policies apply, including floating policy and annual education updates

This position is ideal for Pediatric OR RNs with at least 1.5 years of experience seeking a travel contract with a defined block schedule and a variety of surgical cases.
