Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Rotation: Weekend and holiday rotation required
- Call: No call required
- Floating: All travelers subject to float between all campuses as needed
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
- Prior travel experience NOT required (first-time travelers are welcome)
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Experience in Cardiac Telemetry required
- Skills in:
- Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Peripheral line care/management, including PICC line management
- Titration of drips
- Experience with PCU nurse-to-patient ratios (1:5)
- Must be flexible with floating as needed
Compliance & Testing Requirements
- Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs (minimum passing score 82%)
- EPIC test required (2 attempts allowed, 3rd attempt possible with manager approval)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum passing score 80%)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail, 2 attempts max)
- Background check covering 7 years of residence/work/school history
- Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Fit mask test (annual) with approved N95 respirators or CAPR if applicable
- Physical exam (if applicable)
Documentation & History Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security card for badge issuance
- Employment application/resume with 7 years of work history
- Verification of employment for last 5 years through third-party vendor
- Two supervisory references from clinical assignments within last 24 months
- Annual skills checklist (must be updated within one week grace period)
Additional Notes
- Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Candidates must complete and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid background, business casual/uniform attire)
- Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here)
This position offers a structured schedule with no call responsibilities but requires flexibility for floating and weekend/holiday rotations. The role demands strong cardiac telemetry skills and experience managing PCU patient ratios. First-time travel nurses with the required experience and certifications are encouraged to apply.
