Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel


Position Details

  • Discipline / Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
  • Shift: 7 AM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
  • Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: Will float depending on house staffing
  • Patient Ratios: 6:1
  • Unit Beds: 30
  • EMR System: Cerner

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: RN license required
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg nursing (highest required years of experience)
  • Skills/Experience:
    • Med/surg nursing
    • Orthopedics
    • Post-operative care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong time management skills
  • Experience in med/surg nursing

Work Environment & Culture

  • Patient population includes medical surgical and post-op surgery patients
  • Personality fit: Friendly, compassionate, sense of urgency, able to handle challenging situations
  • Dress code: Navy scrubs
  • Unacceptable attire: Fake nails, gel nails, dip nails, long nails, ear pods

  • The role offers exposure to a variety of patient care experiences including med/surg, ortho, and post-op.
  • No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
