Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: OB Ultrasound Tech (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
  • Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Daily Caseload: 10-15 cases per tech
  • On-call: Not required
  • Weekend Work: Not required
  • Floating: No floating between service lines or sister facilities

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN ultrasound experience
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • ARRT (S) or ARDMS (Registered Medical Sonographer) certification in OB/GYN
  • Equipment Experience: Siemens & GE ultrasound scanners
  • Trauma Level: Level 3 facility
  • License: Must hold appropriate state license for Ultrasound Tech in South Carolina

Facility & Work Environment

  • Type: Tertiary Hospital / OB/GYN Clinic
  • Total Staffed Beds: 220
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Scrub Color: Black/Teal
  • Parking: Free
  • Local Radius: 60 miles (locals not accepted)
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Hurricane Season: Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during June-November (peak in August-September)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of work eligibility (I-9, Social Security Card)
  • Background checks including:
    • 7 years of work/living history
    • National and state criminal checks
    • Sex offender registry
    • FACIS 3 and international searches if applicable
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam: Initial and annual updates required
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30), medical/religious exemptions accepted (no declinations)
  • COVID-19 vaccines highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
  • Respirator clearance required annually for patient-facing roles
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)

Certifications & Training

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, as required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, as required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only, as required
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - AWHONN or NCC certification required
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) as required
  • Chemotherapy certification not required for this location
  • National certification verification required (ARRT or ARDMS for Ultrasound Tech)
  • Orientation modules and facility-specific training must be completed prior to start

  • Radiation badge not required for Ultrasound Techs at this facility
  • Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
  • Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be signed prior to start
  • Travelers must complete all required modules and upload vaccination documentation into the facility’s system before orientation
  • Local candidates are not accepted for this travel position
