Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Inpatient/LTC Float

Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide occupational therapy services across inpatient acute care and long-term care (LTC) settings. Float between hospital and skilled nursing facilities (SNF) as needed to support patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat adult patients with a variety of diagnoses including:
    • General deconditioning
    • Total joint replacement
    • Post-op orthopedic cases
    • Neurological diagnoses
    • General medical-surgical conditions
  • Provide coverage support for SNF residents at multiple locations.
  • Utilize electronic medical records systems including EPIC (acute care) and Casamba/NetHealth (LTC).
  • Float between inpatient and LTC units as required.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, day shift
  • No call or weekend shifts
  • Occasionally may be the only OT at an LTC location with phone support available

Required Qualifications

  • Minnesota Occupational Therapy Licensure (or willingness to obtain)
  • Active BLS certification (AHA)
  • Experience with inpatient and SNF settings required
  • Willingness to float to all locations as needed
  • Preferred: Experience in acute care setting (1 year in past 3 years preferred but not required)
  • Preferred: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records

Additional Information

  • Typical caseload: 30-40 patients in hospital; SNF facilities range from 30 to 60 beds
  • Orientation includes computer-based training and 1-on-1 documentation and department training
  • Dress code: Polo shirts (ceil blue, khaki, gray, chocolate brown) or business casual
  • Must badge in/out at facility

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty experience: 1 year preferred in acute care within the past 3 years (not strictly required)
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

This position is ideal for an Occupational Therapist comfortable working in both inpatient and long-term care environments with flexibility to float between units.
