Job Opportunity: OB/L&D Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years OB/L&D nursing experience (including Postpartum and Pediatrics)
• Active Minnesota RN license
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• EPIC electronic medical record experience preferred (if no EPIC experience, must specify other EMR systems used)

Prior Travel Experience

Job Responsibilities

• Provide care for postpartum, stable antepartum, pediatric patients, newborns, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow
• May serve as second RN in Special Care Nursery (SCN)
• Float as needed, primarily as helping hands, but expected to care for Med-Surg patients occasionally
• Assist in filling schedule vacancies related to staff onboarding, vacancies, and staff on FMLA
• Work variable shifts including weekends; 12-hour night shifts every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays

Patient Load and Support

• Average daily census: 5 couplets (mom/baby), 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor, 4 SCN patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • 1:3 mom/baby couplets
  • 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients
  • 1:3-4 pediatrics
• Support staff includes ward clerk (7am-7pm), CNA (Tues-Thurs), charge nurse/circulator, resource nurse, and LPN scrub nurse without assignments

Equipment and Orientation

• Equipment used: EPIC One Chart, Acudose, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call light system, Medfusion Pumps
• Unit and equipment orientation provided on first day
• Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

This position requires flexibility, strong OB/L&D skills, and the ability to float to Med-Surg and Tele units as needed.
