Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Easton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend required (4 weekends in a 4 schedule cycle), holidays as scheduled
Start Date: March 9, 2026

Job Description

• Telemetry RN position working night shifts
• Patient population: Adult and Geriatric
• Fast-paced environment with high census and complex multi-diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity patients
• Floating required within specialty, lower acuity units, and sister location as needed
• On-call not required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty (Telemetry)
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Maryland RN state license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• NIH Stroke Certification (annual update required)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - completed onsite during orientation
• Pass/Fail Testing (Medication and EKG/Arrhythmia exam at orientation) with minimum 85% passing score

Additional Requirements & Competencies

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80%)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (minimum 80%)
• Age-specific competency exam (minimum 80%)
• Color blindness testing
• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and state-specific exclusions
• Negative drug screen (9 or 10 panel depending on facility) within 30-90 days prior to start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates required)
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (seasonal)
  • MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps (proof of immunity or vaccination required)
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
• Verification of at least 2 years hospital or equivalent acute care experience within last 5 years

Work Environment & Policies

• Floating within specialty and sister locations as needed
• Orientation held onsite with specific dress code (Royal Blue scrubs)
• Compliance with facility-specific policies including confidentiality, dress code, and safety questionnaires
• Required to complete various facility-specific documents and attestations prior to start

This position offers a structured travel contract with a supportive environment for both new and experienced travel nurses in telemetry care.
