Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation.
  • Target patient ratios: 3 rooms
  • Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour days (07:00 - 17:30), Monday-Friday
  • Call Requirement: One day a week plus one weekend per 4-week schedule, with callback required
  • Floating: Rare, possibly to Electrophysiology (EP) unit
  • Unit Systems: EPIC, MAC Lab
  • Scrubs Provided
  • Interview required before offer

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in Radiology/Cardiology
  • Prior travel experience not required (1st time travelers accepted)
  • Skills: Scrubbing, monitoring, PA lines and telemetry, structural heart & TAVR experience
  • Cath Lab Procedures: Balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left & right heart catheterization, Rotablader
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and at least one of the following: RCIS or ARRT

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills: Circulating, IV starts, conscious sedation
  • Additional Procedures: Watchman procedures, septal closure, ablations, coil embolization, filter placement
  • EKG: Rhythm interpretation

Special Procedures / Unit Details

  • Complex PCI procedures performed in the lab

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background check within 6 months
  • Drug testing within 6 months (9-panel acceptable)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or proof of past positive TB with appropriate documentation)
  • Required immunizations and titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • Various competency exams including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (must pass with 82% or higher)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam
  • Color blindness testing within 1 year
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
  • Radiation badge required for Cath Lab techs
  • Facility-specific orientation and compliance training required (including confidentiality, medication safety, and hospital policies)
  • Photo for badge required prior to start

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be available for interview within 72 hours of submission
  • Floating to EP unit is rare but possible
  • Call schedule may fluctuate due to staff absences

This position is ideal for Cath Lab Techs with at least 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology procedures, who are comfortable with complex interventional cardiology cases and are flexible with call and weekend requirements. Prior travel experience is not mandatory.
