Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Harvey, Illinois (Rotating between 3 offsite clinics in Flossmoor, Calumet City, and Tinley Park)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Work setting: Rotating between three offsite clinics in the area
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty or comparable/higher acuity area
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA provider or AHA RQI only (no other providers accepted)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for specific RN/unit positions (verify if applicable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for specific RN/unit positions (verify if applicable)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required for all ER clinical candidates
- Background Checks:
- 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender, federal and national criminal checks, FACIS III, education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education: ADN or BSN required with verifiable transcripts or diploma
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask models required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or declination
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel within 30 days of start
- Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation or approved medical/religious exemption (season runs 10/1 to 3/31)
- Other Requirements:
- Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) fingerprinting registry if no Illinois state license required (not applicable for RN)
- Completion of facility orientation modules prior to start
- Passport-style photo for badge
- Employment application including last 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills checklist updated annually for assigned and float units
- Work history verification covering 7 years of employment
- Two professional references
