Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: Laramie, Wyoming
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation to patients as prescribed, ensuring quality care throughout the treatment process. Responsibilities include calculating radiation dosage and exposure, evaluating patient responses, participating in patient and community education, and assisting with billing and coding related to radiation therapy.


Required Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy or Radiation Technology required.
  • Experience:

    • Previous experience as a Radiation Therapist required.
    • Years of Experience: At least 1 year (based on typical interpretation of "previous experience required").
  • Licenses & Certifications:

    • Current, valid Wyoming License as a Radiation Technologist in good standing.
    • Current, valid ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registration in good standing.
    • Current, valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or must obtain within 60 days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Prior Travel Experience:

    • Not explicitly required.

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, oncologic pathology, radiation biology, radiation oncology techniques, treatment planning, and dosimetry.
  • Compassionate and competent in meeting the special needs of oncology patients.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization abilities.
