Description

Travel RN - Emergency Department

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM (Additional shifts may be confirmed)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical care and coordinates patient care specific to the age group served in the Emergency Department. The RN ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards and organizational goals. The role requires effective communication, respect for patients and staff, and adherence to professional nursing practices.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

  • License: Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state RN license

  • Certifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) from AHA
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) from AHA or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or equivalent preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Emergency Department or specialty area

  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
  • Clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment
  • Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations
  • Requires prolonged standing, walking, and physical effort to move patients and equipment
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required
  • Visual and hearing acuity within normal or correctable limits

Additional Information

  • Weekend requirement: Rotating, up to 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
  • On-call: Not routinely required but may be placed on call during low census
  • Floating: Yes, may be floated to assist as sitter or with CNA duties when census or acuity is low
  • Schedule may vary; confirm with leadership for multiple shift options
