Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (IMC) - Travel/Contract

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Position: Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Registered Nurse
  • Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (0700-1930)
  • Schedule: Every 3rd weekend required
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Maryland
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Travel experience required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Competency Exam: Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
    • Minimum overall score of 80%
    • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work every 3rd weekend
  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
  • Background checks including criminal, education verification, and federal/state screenings
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation required:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella documentation or titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Orientation and Training

  • Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date
  • Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
  • Annual safety manual acknowledgement

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an Intermediate Care Unit RN in Baltimore, MD. Candidates must have at least 2 years of RN experience, prior travel experience, and required certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Passing a specialized EKG competency exam is mandatory. The role requires weekend availability every third weekend and completion of various health, background, and competency requirements prior to start.
