Job Opportunity: PACU Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays required as scheduled
Floating: May be required within specialty, ICU/critical care, and lower acuity areas, including sister hospitals
On-call: Scheduled on-call shifts not required but may be placed on on-call status rarely

Required Qualifications

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted with strong ICU/Critical Care experience (prior travel experience NOT required)
• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Maryland RN license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Job Details

• Start Date: March 9, 2026, or ASAP
• Work Hours: 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Floating: May float within specialty, ICU/critical care, and lower acuity units, including sister hospitals
• On-call: No scheduled on-call shifts, but may be placed on on-call status rarely to avoid call-offs

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
• Government-issued photo ID required
• I9 or attestation required
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30-45 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (full vaccination required for certain units)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccination/declination as applicable)
• Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking
• Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor or charge RN
• Employment history verification for previous 5 years required

Additional Notes

• Candidates must sign facility-specific job descriptions and confidentiality agreements prior to start
• Orientation includes completion of required competencies and training modules
• Medication, pharmacology, EKG/dysrhythmia competency exams required as applicable
• Compliance with facility appearance, hygiene, and conduct policies required
• Security ID application and badge photo required prior to start
