Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Endoscopy (Travel)

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: GI/Endo Lab (Endoscopy Lab)
  • Number of Beds: 2
  • Staffing:
    • 1 Full-Time RN
    • 1 Part-Time RN
    • 1 PRN RN (on orientation)
    • 1 Full-Time Tech (Traveler)
    • 2 Part-Time Techs
  • Shifts:
    • Day Shift: 2 RNs, 2-3 Techs (depending on case load)
    • Night Shift: Not specified
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Equipment: Olympus scopes, Medivator, Scope Buddy 2
  • EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills

  • Must have experience with:
    • EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy)
    • Colonoscopy
    • ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) Procedures
  • Able to perform moderate sedation with another RN

Preferred Skills

  • Bronchoscopy
  • EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound)

Typical Procedures

  • EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCPs
  • Bronchoscopies, EBUS, Robotic bronchoscopies
  • Occasional thoracentesis, pleur-X placement

Work Schedule

  • Call required 2-3 days per week
  • Call every 3rd weekend

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License (Texas)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in RN specialty (Endoscopy)

Additional Information

  • Dress Code: Ceil Blue scrubs (hospital scrubs allowed)
  • No floating to other areas
