Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Vero Beach, Florida
Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Position accepts CRT or RRT credentials (CRT or RRT accepted).
  • Must have 2 years of experience in the specialty (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics).
  • Ohio RRT license required and must be in hand at time of submission.
  • Weekend shifts as needed; may float to other facilities within the system.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Ohio RRT license.
  • NBRC certification (for CRT and RRT candidates).
  • AHA BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required for all candidates.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for all candidates.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) required if working in NICU specialty (RRT-NICU).
  • Must carry a valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
  • Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references.
  • Application must include 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting and in a similar area to the pending assignment.
  • Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and must be updated annually.
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check required prior to start; must be updated for breaks in service of 2 or more months.
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed ASAP as processing can take up to 30 days. Fingerprints may not pend at start.
  • Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold TB test/T-Spot required within 6 months of start; must be renewed annually. For past positive TB tests, chest x-ray clearance and annual TB symptom assessment required.
  • Fit mask test required within 12 months of start and must be updated annually.
  • Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform essential job functions.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually.
  • Immunization or titer documentation required for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella. Negative or equivocal titers require booster doses; declinations not accepted except for Hepatitis B signed declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted.
  • HIPAA acknowledgement form required and must be updated annually.
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required for all candidates.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must complete online training modules prior to start; modules take approximately 4-5 hours and must be completed on a computer using Chrome.
  • Badge pickup required prior to start after completion of modules and fingerprinting.
  • Scheduling and time-off requests must be communicated during submission and interview.
  • All work history, including any previous positions within the system, must be included in the candidate profile.
