Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology professional with expertise in neuro and body procedures. This is a travel/contract position requiring inpatient hospital experience and proficiency with Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment.


Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year (highest required)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required (does not accept first-time travelers)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Skills:
    • Neuro experience including stroke intervention
    • Inpatient hospital experience
    • PACS and contrast use
    • Experience with all IR procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripherals, biopsies, drainages, upper/lower extremity, abdominal/pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, venous access, and neurological studies
    • Experience with Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment required
  • Preferred:
    • ARRT Advanced Certification
    • Experience with EPIC and McKesson systems
    • Experience in outpatient, OR, ER, Level I trauma, teaching hospital, community hospital, ablations

Work Schedule

  • Shift: First shift with staggered start between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM
  • Hours: 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday
  • Call: Weekends and evenings/nights on call rotation (primary and backup)
  • Float: None

Patient Population

  • Majority adults and geriatrics, some adolescents
  • Procedures require skills in both neuro and body interventions

Case Load & Orientation

  • Daily case load: 13-17 cases
  • Hospital orientation during week one; attendance required for all classes

Required Background and Health Checks

  • Criminal background checks within 90 days for all locations lived in last 7 years
  • Education verification for highest degree earned specific to profession
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (updated annually if past positive TB)
  • Fit mask testing (N95 or PAPR training) required
  • TB testing (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year) and chest x-ray if positive
  • Immunizations or titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or series or facility-specific declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season

Required Facility-Specific Documents & Training

  • Confidentiality agreement
  • Non-Novant Health Worker Orientation (required for NC travel candidates)
  • Medication Safety training and certificate of completion
  • Hospital policies and acknowledgment form
  • Radiation badge (required for Interventional Radiology techs)
  • Competency exams as applicable (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG competency)
  • Other compliance and annual mandatory education as required

Additional Notes

  • Scrubs provided
  • RTO (Return to Office) after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite
  • Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR status
  • Candidates must be available for interview within 72 hours of submission

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology professionals with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week assignment in a hospital setting with a diverse patient population and advanced procedural requirements.
