Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER) (Nights)
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work 36-40 hours per week, with overtime billable after 40 hours
- Patient ratio: 4:1
- Unit bed size: 34
- Patient population: Mixed
- Responsibilities include managing drips and titrations
- Float opportunities across various Emergency Department settings including freestanding ED and regional medical centers
- EMR system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 24 months of Emergency Room (ER) experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months
- Licensure: Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Active American Heart Association or equivalent
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Active American Heart Association or equivalent
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Active American Heart Association or equivalent
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency Certificate) - Required
- NIH Stroke Scale certificate - Required (can be obtained during onboarding)
- De-escalation Certificates: CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA accepted; highly preferred to have active certification but can be obtained during onboarding
- Additional: Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months
- NIH Stroke Scale certificate (if not already obtained)
Additional Information
- Orientation dates available
- Comfort with floating across multiple ED settings is expected
- Non-certified clinicians may be considered if they obtain required certifications during onboarding
