Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Cath Lab specializing in SFMC - Cardiac Cath Lab RN. This role involves working in a busy cath lab environment with 6 suites/labs and handling 4-20 cases per day, including STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital cases, TAVR, MitraClip, and peripheral interventions.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that application process has been initiated)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Ability to read cardiac strips and titrate drips occasionally
• Experience in cardiac cath lab nursing preferred
• Drug-free workplace: must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Work Schedule & Call Requirements

• Shifts: Four 9-hour shifts per week (4 x 9's)
• Call: 6-8 call shifts per month, including primary and backup call
• Weekend call: Every 6-7 weekends, starting Friday 5:30 pm to Monday 6:00 am (24-hour shifts approximately once per month)
• Holiday call: Includes Easter backup call shift
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation
• No floating required, but experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) is a plus

Work Environment & Equipment

• EMR: EPIC
• Monitors: GE and Philips
• Other systems: McKesson
• Team: Call teams consist of 4 people; regular cases have 3 people (1 RN and 2 RTRs)
• Cardiologists on call 24/7 year-round
• Charge nurse available as resource and coordinator on each shift
• Scrubs provided

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or pay required for the shift
