Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Alamosa, Colorado

Job Summary

Seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital setting. The position involves working Monday through Friday with a rotating weekend schedule approximately once every two months. Clinicians may be required to float within their scope to a nearby facility (15 minutes away).

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Physical Therapy) required. Candidates with 1 year may be considered but less than 1 year will not be considered.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Prior travel experience is not required.

Schedule & Hours

• Monday to Friday schedule.
• Weekend coverage on a rotating basis (approximately once every 2 months).
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have a valid Colorado state license or compact license for Physical Therapy.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred.
• Pending licenses are not accepted; license must be in hand at time of submission.

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital with 49 staffed beds.
• Charting systems: OBix, McKesson, Pyxis, and SBAR.
• Free parking available.
• Scrub color: Any color allowed.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, and 7 years of residence/work history.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (annual updates not required).
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (can be completed on-site if needed).
• Negative TB test (T-Spot or QuantiFERON Gold) within 45 days of start; PPDs not accepted.
• Required immunizations/vaccinations or titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of disease)
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with chain of custody within 30 days of start.
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations not accepted.
• Colorado CAPS (Child Abuse and Neglect) check results required prior to start.

Additional Notes

• No time off (RTO) allowed within the first two weeks of assignment; no more than 10 days total and no full calendar weeks off.
• Clinicians may be asked to float to a nearby facility as needed.
• Locals are accepted for this position.
