Job Opportunity: RN (Registered Nurse) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Worthington, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Manage day-to-day nursing operations and activities for an assigned unit (Same Day Surgery and PACU).
• Oversee patient care, record keeping, and personnel issues.
• Implement organizational mission, vision, policies, goals, and objectives within nursing/clinical services.
• Assist with scheduling nursing staff and fill in for clinical support staff as needed.
• Develop trusting relationships with patients through empathy and professionalism.
• Participate in committees, staff meetings, and department initiatives.
• Review clinical performance assessments and recommend improvements.
• Train and develop new and existing staff members.
• Maintain and track certifications and continuing education for self and staff.
• Utilize EPIC and other internal systems (training provided).

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of management/leadership experience preferred.
• Licensure:

  • Current, unencumbered RN license with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing.
  • Multistate licensure accepted if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of employment.
• Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing practice act and standards of nursing care.
  • Working knowledge of administrative and management techniques.

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Monday through Friday, primarily 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Surgery day shift).
• Call required 2 to 3 evenings per week from 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM.
• Call every third weekend from Friday 3:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM.
• No floating to other units/departments.
• Work involves managing three OR suites.
• Orientation and training provided onsite by nursing leadership from multiple departments.

• Local placements within an 80-mile radius.
• Scrubs provided (Ceil Blue).
• Preference for candidates interested in a temp-to-perm opportunity.
• Must badge in and out at the facility.

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required.
