Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – ER (Travel)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7pm - 7am)
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (1 cancellation allowed per 2-week period)
• Float Requirements: May float within like departments; ED nurses may float to ICU inpatient units and assist as aides if needed
• On Call/Call Back: None

Unit Overview

• Fast-paced, inner-city Emergency Department
• Approximately 100 patients per day, including many pediatric and asthma cases
• 12-bed unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio

Required Qualifications

• Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
• Prior travel experience required (no new travelers; at least one completed travel contract)
• Strong Meditech charting experience preferred; mandatory Meditech module training required before start date
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Resilient, adaptable, and able to manage change well
• Social and team-oriented demeanor

Additional Information

• No time off requests over 7 days allowed
• No block schedule requests
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical or religious exemption is granted prior to start date
• Orientation is bi-weekly, 12 hours non-billable, with no guaranteed hours during orientation week

This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses who have prior travel contract experience and are comfortable working nights in a busy urban emergency department.
