Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – ER (Travel)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
  • Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (1 cancellation allowed per 2-week period)
  • Float Requirements: May float within like departments; ER nurses may float to ICU inpatient units and assist as aides if needed
  • On Call/Call Back: None

Unit Information

  • Fast-paced ER environment
  • Approximately 100 patients per day, including many pediatric and asthma cases
  • 12-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Requires resilience, ability to manage change, and strong social skills

Required Qualifications

  • Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience (highest required years of experience)
  • Prior travel experience required (at least one completed travel contract)
  • Charting experience with Meditech strongly preferred (mandatory Meditech training during compliance)
  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical/religious exemption

Additional Notes

  • No return-to-office requests over 7 days
  • No block schedule requests
  • Scrub color: Royal Blue
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly, 12 hours non-billable, GSA hours not guaranteed during orientation week
