Job Opportunity: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Days)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Job Details

• Employment Type: Temporary
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Work Hours: 36-40 hours/week (OT billable after 40 hours)
• Unit Info:

  • Patient Types: All types of med surg care including overflow of post-op surgical hips/knees
  • Patient Ratios: 4-5:1
  • Bed Size: 24
  • Drips: Heparin
  • Telemetry Tech Unit Monitoring: Remote
  • Scrubs: Navy blue, solids
• Floating: Traveler will be required to float across multiple campuses

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months (2 years) of experience in Med Surg / Med Surg Telemetry
• Experience with EPIC EMR system
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC/Red Cross)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg / Med Surg Telemetry discipline
• Professional reference or performance evaluation within the last 24 months (preferred)

Summary

This is a temporary RN position in Med Surg/Telemetry requiring at least 2 years of relevant experience, EPIC EMR proficiency, and an active Iowa nursing license. The role involves caring for med surg patients including post-op surgical cases, with a patient ratio of 4-5:1, and requires flexibility to float across multiple campuses. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
