Description
Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General (Pediatrics)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Ultrasound / Pediatrics
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), Friday through Sunday
- No on-call required
- Work location: All in-house, no travel between buildings
- Daily caseload varies
- Potential flexibility to work additional days as needed
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Neonate and Pediatric patients
- Experience with extremity venous Doppler
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARDMS or ARRT certification

- Parking: $20 one-time payment for nights and weekends
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- Radius rule: 60 miles
- Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with prior approval (not guaranteed)
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of work eligibility (I-9, E-Verify)
- Background checks including SSN trace, criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS, and others within 1 year
- Education verification (diploma or transcripts acceptable as placeholder)
- Clinical references (2 required)
- Employment history verification (last 3 clinical employers)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge
- Physical exam updated annually
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug-April) or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Color blindness testing prior to start
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
- Competency exam required
Additional Notes
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or a declination form completed
- No floating between buildings or departments
- No radiation badge required for this role
- Facility uses Epic for charting
- Travelers must comply with all facility-specific policies and complete required documentation before starting
