Job Opportunity: Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lancaster, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Oncology Infusion RN
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:3
• Weekend Requirement: None
• On-call Requirement: None
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Oncology experience within the last year, specifically including infusion experience
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Strong IV experience

Facility & Work Environment

• Ambulatory Infusion setting with 10 infusion chairs
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Free parking available
• Radius rule: 60 miles
• Locals accepted at a reduced rate

Important Notes

• Hurricane season (June - November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; peak months are August and September.
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• All required hours and modules must be completed prior to start; failure to complete may result in being sent home.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of work eligibility (I-9, Social Security Card)
• Background checks including 7 years of history and various federal/state registries
• Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder if needed
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccines)
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology test as applicable
• Clinical references (2) and employment application/resume required
• NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
• Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, signed agreements, and orientation acknowledgments must be completed prior to start

Additional Certifications (as applicable)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for ER only
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - not required for ER RNs
• NIH Stroke Certification - required for ER and Med Surg, updated annually
• IV Therapy certification may be required for select LPNs (not applicable for RN role)

Summary

This is a travel contract position for an Oncology Infusion RN with a minimum of 1 year oncology infusion experience, valid SC RN license, and required certifications including BLS, ACLS, and chemo administration certification. The role is Monday through Friday with no weekend or on-call requirements, in an ambulatory infusion setting using Epic for charting. First-time travelers are welcome. Compliance with extensive documentation, immunizations, and background checks is mandatory prior to start.
