Job Opportunity: PCU RN for ER Holding Area
Location: Savannah, Georgia

Job Description
- Provide care for patients boarded in the ER holding area.
- Stepdown skillset required for the ER Holding Unit.
- Patient types include cardiac, neuro, ortho, and critical care.
- RN responsibilities include reading and saving telemetry strips (Spacelabs monitors).
- Respiratory Therapists (RT) handle vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, ABGs, and breathing treatments; RN troubleshooting only.
- X-ray and CT available in ER with dedicated techs for transport.
- No phlebotomy performed by RNs in the ER.
- Security is in-house 24/7 in the ER.
- Separate psych/seclusion rooms available.
Required Qualifications
- Active Georgia or Compact RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
- Minimum of 2 years recent PCU experience OR 1 year PCU with 1+ years experience in Telemetry, ER, or ICU.
- Must have successfully completed at least 1 previous travel assignment (prior travel experience required).
- References should be from recent assignments.
Schedule & Orientation
- 12-hour day shifts.
- Weekend requirement: At least 6 weekend days/nights in a 6-week schedule (approximately every other weekend).
- Holiday shifts based on department needs.
- No call, standby, or floating requirements.
- Department-specific orientation during the first week of the contract.
- Dress code: Navy scrubs.
Contract Length
- Approximately 14 weeks.
Additional Notes
- 100-mile radius rule strictly enforced (driver’s license required).
- Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:4-5, adjusted for acuity.
