Job Opportunity: Transitional Care Unit Nurse (Hilo, Hawaii)
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Hours: Scheduled 36 hours per week following first full week of orientation
Shifts: Various shift lengths and days; flexibility required; no guarantee of hours or shift preference
Job Description
- Work in a 32-bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:8 with 1:6 aides during the day, 1:8 at night
- May float to Medical-Surgical and Surgical Pediatrics units
- Equipment used includes Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding (NG/G-Tubes), trach care, PICC/PORT
- Professional nursing attire required
- Orientation provided for each unit
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Nursing (Transitional Care Unit)
- Experience: 2 to 10 years nursing experience (use 10 years as the required minimum)
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Active Hawaii State Nursing License required by start of assignment
- BLS required
- ACLS not required unless agency mandates it
- Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to contract start
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
