Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Maternal Fetal
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- 4x9.5 hour shifts, days, rotating Monday-Friday (variable shifts)
- Typical shift: 7:15 AM - 4:45 PM
- Occasional float to other units:
- Monday & Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Rare weekend shifts (7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM) possible on Women & Children's unit
Job Description
- Perinatal ultrasound for high-risk patients including anatomy, Dopplers, transvaginal scans
- Use of Samsung Hera W10 and Samsung RS 85 Prestige equipment
- Experience with EPIC and AS OB Reporting required
- Outpatient experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
- Procedures include PACS, Amniocentesis, Chronic Villus Sampling
- Focus on OB/GYN, high-risk obstetrics, M-mode ultrasound
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Ultrasound Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Ultrasound Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography experience
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal and High Risk patients
- Experience in an Outpatient setting
- Proficiency with AS OB Reporting
- Skilled in perinatal ultrasound for high-risk patients, including anatomy, Dopplers, and transvaginal ultrasound
- Experience with PACS and Amniocentesis procedures
- BLS certification
- ARDMS certification
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs (not applicable here but noted)
- EPIC competency required
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Social Security Card for badge issuance
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification and foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of employment history for last 5 years
- Two supervisory references from clinical assignments within last 24 months
- Annual skills checklist compliance
- Facility-specific documents including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
- Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual/uniform attire)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- Fit mask test (annual, specific approved N95 respirators)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- TB questionnaire within 30 days of start and annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella immunity proof or vaccination series
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella immunity proof or vaccination series
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
Additional Notes
- No call required; floating to other units as needed
- Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- EPIC test requires passing score with up to 2 attempts; additional attempts may be allowed onsite at manager discretion
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
- Medication/pharmacology competency exams and other competency exams required as applicable
- Facility requires primary source verification of all licenses and certifications within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required for applicable licenses within 60 days of start
This position is ideal for Ultrasound Technologists with maternal-fetal specialty experience looking for a travel contract in a teaching hospital environment with a focus on high-risk obstetrics. First-time travelers are welcome.
