Job Opportunity: RRT-NICU (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, every other weekend required
- Primary assignment in Labor & Delivery (L&D) with NICU focus
- Floating to PICU and some Pediatric Acute Care units as needed
- Home unit assignment: NICU, PICU, or Pediatrics, with possible changes based on facility needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
- Must have Children's Hospital experience within the last 3 years OR experience at a Level 1 adult facility
- L&D experience required due to primary assignment
- NICU or PICU experience required
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required (First Time Travelers Accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Valid Indiana State License and certifications must be in hand to submit application
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required within specified timeframes
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) positive titers or 2 vaccines each (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology test required
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment (within 2 years) with appropriate supervisory titles
- Skills checklist within 12 months and annual completion required
Unit Information
- Assignments primarily in NICU or PICU, with some floating to Pediatric Acute Care
- Must be flexible to float as needed
Notes
- IU Health will not allow Indiana RNs to work at their facilities after 11/30/24 except for Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (does not affect RRTs)
- On-site fit testing is a last resort and limited to certain campuses
- Candidates must complete all required facility-specific forms and orientation packets prior to start
